Default problems while steering

Sorry for my english, but I’m writing from Italy. I have a 2000 S10 Blazer and during winter, driving on the snow, I realised that, when the 4wd is in, if I turn the steering wheel till the end on both side, it’s like if the wheel were in some way blocked. To move I have to accelerate and so finally it goes forward. But the front wheels seem to turn not very well and the car moves up and down. I asked to my car dealer, but he said that “probably” it’s all normal. But I’m not pretty sure. Is it?
A second question. There’s someone who can suggests me which are the best shock absorbers (I think I should change mine) using the car mainly on normal roads?
Finally I have an LPG plant on whit cylinder in place of the spare wheel and I’m going to mount a spare tyre carrier, and everything is quite heavy. Do you think I have to add a leaf spring helper? And if yes, which one?

If you are turning on dry pavement with the 4wd locked in, then the binding is perfectly normal. If you do this a lot or at higher speeds, it can cause damage to the system so you should only use your 4wd in poor traction situations.

It depends on what you have available to you in Italy. Bilstein makes a good shock absorber. I have used Monroe Reflex shocks as well as the Monroe Sensatrack w/ load assist (coil over springs) on my old 2k Bravada. The load assist shocks were in the rear to add more carrying capacity out back. They worked well.
