Default Rear-end mess!!!!!!

O.K.-bought a rear end for my 92 full-size blazer 4X4 off craigslist(BIG mistake!) and it is not what I was told it was! Did a # check and found out it is off a 96 to 98. Wont fit my truck. My rear end has 10" brakes the one I bought has 11". Can I buy the hardware(drums-shoes-ect.) and will it line-up with my springs and shocks?

The spring perches you can measure quite easily. So long as the rear came from under a 1/2 ton truck, it should line up properly.

Is it the same size axle or larger? Your '92 should have the GM Corp 10-bolt rear in it.

Why not keep the brakes?

Finally got a rear end that fits! Person said it was fine-no need to check fluid -should have! Doing 50 and it locked-up! Should I get another rear-end or re-build this one. How hard are they to re-build?

They aren't too bad to rebuild if you have the specialized tools to set the shims properly.

Google "rear axle rebuild" and have a read through a few articles.
