Default Rear end sag when loaded

May be the wrong place for this message, but im new and thats my excuse... lol What can i do to stiffin up the rear springs in my 97 S10? It sags under almost any load, during the winter i have a topper on because i teach Survival Prepardness and always have it loaded with gear and it just looks strange when it sits lower than the front. Lift shackles? Different springs? what can i do guys??

I moved your post to the correct section for you.

The easiest way to solve your problem would probably be to get yourself some helper springs to help hold the additional weight when loaded. Lift shackles will raise your truck when not loaded and don't really help to compensate for the additional weight so I wouldn't go that route. Different springs can be costly unless you can find some out of a PicknPull.

Ok, thanks for moving my post to the correct location. Do you by any chance have a link you could post that would direct me to the product?

I know AC-Delco made overload helper springs that were part of the shocks for our trucks. I don't know if they're still available, but you could check on Rockauto.com. The other option would be an add-a-leaf or something like that. It would help a bit to lift the rear end and stiffen it up.

I installed air shocks in the back
When I go camping I probably have about 1000lbs of wood plus all my other gear stuffed in also towing my camper trailer
I had it packed so tight there was absolutely no room , even had my wifes sneakers stuffed behind my spare LOL
I will have to take a picture next time
At 60psi it still rode level but not like a 1 ton truck

ive been digging the airbags on my fullsize, i was thinking about putting a set of heavier springs back there then you have to deal with the rougher ride when unloaded. i like them cause they are adjustable just like air shocks, so if my bed is loaded and im towing i can pump them up to 50-60psi, just loaded bed, 30, empty 10psi

another thing that scared me about messing with springs is nothing ever comes off, ubolts break and spring bolts break so figured this was the easiest way
