Removing CV's for good.
Yesterday on my way home a very noticeable vibration appeared in my truck at around 50+ MPH. You can feel it in the seat, steering wheel, and even see it if you try to look in the review mirror.
First thought, u-joints, so I replaced em today...no dice, problem still persist. Next thought, CV axels or hubs, but both my hubs are less than a year old so I wanna try CV's first. My CV's have been bad since I bought the truck ( grease slung out all over the A arms ) and they pop every now and then.
I don't really have the extra money to replace them right now, but I know they are required to hold the hubs on, but I read somewhere that if you just removed the lower half with the threads from the rest of the axel and bolted that back on that it would be drivable. Can anyone confirm this? It's not like I need them as my 4wd doesn't work for other reasons and even If it did I would never use it..

Thanks for the reply but its a little late since I've already gone through with it lol. Pulled the half shafts out and beat the bottom half with a BFH till it came off, bolted it back on, and everything seems to be peachy.
