I was looking at purchasing some new shocks for my truck.

These Gabriel spring over shocks is what I was looking at.
They are both designed for my 2 wheel drive, 2 door and the rear ones are rated to add an additional 500 pounds.
They don't mention any weight rating for the front one on their website.

Not that I'm trying to turn it into a 4-wheel drive model but the rear main springs, I'm just looking at a little more clearance since I do live in Michigan with snow at different time of the year.
Plus I was thinking it would take some of the bounce out of the front suspension.

Any thoughts?

The stock stocks on the Blazer are premium bilstein performance shocks, you might wanna stick with those.

 

I remember reading someone using spring over shocks on their blazer, and they really enjoyed the ride. But don't ask me whom or where lol. I'm bad for that.

and I'm pretty sure it was those shocks as well... if not pretty darn close...

I've been thinking of trying to find a pair to fit my 4 door.

 

That's what I did.

 

I used the spring over shocks shown, didnt add any lift and the ride was very stiff. They are made for people towing

 

Just got the RC 2.5" kit for my '01 ZR2 with the N3 shocks. With 17years and 112k miles figured replacing the stock shocks was about timet. With the N3's you feel every bump and rock on the road. I'm going to Citrus WMA tomorrow with some friends so we will see how they handle off-road.

My truck is a 2003 with about 170,000 miles on it so I'm thinking that no matter if the OE was really good most likely by now it is getting fairly tired.
Plus the main leaf in the rear springs looks like it has some reverse curve in it.
I have no way of knowing if they were always that way or if the are starting to sag.

So I guess a little feedback on that would be helpful too.

 

Leafs do get tired and arent that expensive. Thats the route i would take to correct sag rather than putting a band aid on it
