Default replacing steering wheel

I had to remove my steering wheel along with some other parts with a spring. I can not get them to lock back into place is there some kind of trick to it or what? I have replaced it once and it went on fine but the wheel was not straight with the tires and the blinkers where not going off so took it back off. I have the steerign wheel with spocket thing and plastic piece that is suppose to lock off but the spring will not allow me to do so. any help?????

They sell a special tool to tighten it down so you can get the nut on. Autozone probably rents it. Or if your in a pick up you can like leg press it on.
