Roaring sound from front end

Depending on the engle of the cv axle, wondering if the shaft is bouncing around on the inner part of the cv axle part. If that makes sense.
If not then im thinking that the gears on the inside of the front diff, if you got oil drops from around the cv axles, I would say those bearings and seals.
When my diff goes in, ill be doing idler arm and pitman arm, inner and outer tie rods, both cv axles, and shocks all around. Debating on ball joints and lower control arms just to have that piece of mind.

Appreciate you helping out and trying to get to the bottom of this. Yeah idk, I’m basically doing the same as you but in reverse haha.
Yeah no leaks so far coming from any of the seals or axles. I was really hoping it was the front driveshaft lol. I’m thinking it could be the bearings in the diff too but won’t know until I get into it. Just really want to make sure it’s the diff before I start pulling it out if I didn’t need to, you know what I mean?
I just love hunting down mystery sounds, the fun just does not stop haha 😂

When you pulled the front shaft are you only referring to the drive shaft? If so I would recommend pulling the cv joints as well and try that. That would completely eliminate the front diff. The tool can be expensive but I have a pair of wireless chassis ears. You can place these in different parts of the vehicle and narrow down the noise without going MadMax and hanging all over the vehicle while driving lol. It doesn't sound like chopped tires but videos could sound different than real life. So maybe rotate the tires just for ****s and giggles.

So it's not your clutch fan?? Mine does exactly that on cold take off (a loud roaring sound from the front). But goes away after a block or 2. There was a repair bulletin for this problem way back. Computer just needs to be reprogrammed. I called my local GM service about this several years ago. Quoted me about $230 CAN. No thanks.
