Sound is coming from behind the glove box, not a metallic clanking, more of a knocking. Can get up to several times a second on an old brick road. KnockaKnockaKnocka... Shock tops and a sway bar bushings and links look ok. Upper control arm boshings look thin but no play in the wheel.
Im not sure how long its been knocking. I did hit a curb last month on the other side, knocked out the alignment. I fixed the toe but it might have affected the idler arm. The tie rod has some play. The plastic box that covers the a/c is where the noise seems to be coming from is falling apart ... anyone recognize that sound and know what part is loose?

I got the good washers a couple of years ago. That was more of a metallic sound. This has more of a bonka, bonka, bonking on rubber sound.

OK you had that covered - often over looked is the body mounts, you might want to check them out for sh--s and giggles

Could check your shock bushings too. I had one fall apart on my Blazer and the shock bolt was rattling in the mounts.
