Is the pump reservoir full? Have you flushed the power steering system?

That stuff semi works. It seals up leaks, to a point, but you have to realize that it is a bit thicker then normal power steering fluid so if you have crap in the resivor or lines it will just clogg it up more.

Sounds like your pump may be shot.

how do i check to see if the pump is shot? could it be if i just change the power steering fluid that could fix the stiffness? i want to change some of my fluids on my blazer do i just drain the fluid and just fill up or do i need to get the leftover tuff out?

The best way is a flush. Suck some out, pour some in, turn the sterring wheel. Repeat until all you get is clear fluid. It's a simple explanation, yes.
