Default Torsion Bar Issues...

I have an 01 2dr 4x4 that im working on lowering this week. I put the 3in blocks in on the back half, and I was going to just ait-crank the torsion bars to let the front end down...Well, for some reason, the passenger side adjustment bolt is about 1/2 way in(which I assume is normal)...But the drivers side bolt is all the way out...i got about 2 turns on it before it fell out...

My question is, will the lowering keys give me enough adjustment to bring that side down? Ive only got about 2" to go...but i need to get i done soon, my headlights are up in the sky, lol....

I'm sure someone else will chime in before long. One thing I'll say is Blazinlow.com has alot of info on 4x4 lowering. There is a guy with the name Superbee, that is very knowledgeable and a great guy. In my reading, the reindexed keys will give you the drop you need. Cause with the bolt out the drop should be around three inch. Now this is not based on experience cause my keys were rust welded in the crossmember and I never got to change them, but in searching that's what I've found. And a little hint, if you change the keys yourself, and you don't have the $125 torsion unloading tool. You can use a Ball joint press, mine was $45 from harbor frieght. Just make sure you have a breaker bar and a socket to fit on the end of the press. Loading the torsions after the swap was hell for me, but I've heard with the reindexed keys in the presure is alot less than the factory keys. Good luck!

The torison bars work together to raise/lower the truck. For example if you take them both all the way out, the "sides" will be level. If you stick them both end and give them a 1/2 crank each, they will still be level..

As far as the headlights go, why don't you pop the hood and adjust the angle of the lights? It's super easy and convenient to get to.
