Default Torsion Movement

What's up guys! Got an issue I'm not quite sure what is going on. I've got a 98 Jimmy 4x4 that I recently started getting back up to par. New leaf springs, shocks all the way around, a-arm bushings, upper & lower ball joints, inner and outer tie rods, cv axles, idler arm, pitman arm ....and I'm sure I'm missing something. Anyway, I set the front torsion at 19 1/2" from center of hub (which is supposed to he stock height from what I've read here), drove it, adjusted it, drove it, then dialed it in & got an alignment done. Over the past 2-3 days it didn't feel right when driving. Very rough & acted like it was riding on one edge of the front tires. I checked it today and the front end is up almost a full inch! May not seem like much but certainly impacts handling and tire wear. Anyone been up against this or have any idea what's going on?

They might have adjusted it at the alignment shop. There's a way to measure ride height, using points on the front suspension components, as opposed to points on the body. Might be called z height? Do a search, it's been discussed on here before.

This is the accurate way to measure ride height. Spec for a non ZR2 4WD is 4.6 to 5 inches. I always ask the alignment guy to double check it since it should really be measured when the vehicle is level.

Did your shop get everything tightened back up? It’s possible something in the alignment setup shifted...

I've attached a file that has height specs from my 1999 service manual:

Wow, lots of good info. I cant say if Firestone adjusted the height or not. I did have to take it to a different store because the first one said they couldn't get the R side caster dialed in 2nd shop got it pretty quickly but I dont know exactly how they achieved it. It handled REALLY well after the work and the alignment. I started noticing a difference last week. Front end is all over the road again. I'll redo the torsion again this week & take it back for an alignment check. I'll let you know how it reads after I sit this thing back down.

It is not uncommon for the upper control arm eccentric washer/bolt to shift if you hit a hard bump or curb, and some people have even end up putting a tack-weld on the washers to keep them from moving when off-roading. These are adjusted during an alignment. I think it's camber that they affect, but I'm not entirely sure I understand those details.
