Default Tranfer box not shifting

1998 blazer tranfer box not shifting back to 2 wheel
Just bought this a couple of weeks ago to replace my last one.
Runs great but gas mileage was not as expected. I relized that the front axle is shifting out of gear but the transfer case is not. If I remember correctly you should be able to freely turn the front drive shaft when in 2 wheel. Has anybody had this problem? Looking for ideas before I try and fix this. Thanks

Default RE: Tranfer box not shifting

same problem here......says your in 4hi but actually your in 2hi?

apparently theres vacuum hoses for it under the battery tray, it could be a few things(actuator/transfer case) but it is controlled by vacuum.

I have an appointment friday morning to get a diagnostic test, finally.
If I remember ill post back.
