Default trouble on turns while in 4wd

hey guys,i noticed a problem yesterday while backing from a parking spot in 4 hi, when i turned the wheels, i had to really nail it to get it to move like something is binding up under there. it turns fine in 2hi, haven't tried 4 low yet. I'm pretty sure my ball joints are pretty well done, seeing that she's just about to hit 160,000 and i hear popping when i take the steering to full lock sometimes. could ball joints be the problem here or could something else be wrong? o and another thing, whoever put the last ball joints in, put a 60 deg. zerk on the lowers so no one could grease them. i replaced the zerks with straight ones and it took 12 pumps of grease to fill them up. it's terible how some people could be so stupid.

thanks,

brian

Well the wheels will bind if they arent slipping a little. Were you on tar, mud, ice, snow?

it was tar, but i never noticed the problem before. it was to the point where i didnt really want to put the pedal down any further for fear of seriously messing something else up. another thing i noticed, my front end has been popping for a long time now, i just figured it was something with the brakes or something having never owned a 4x4 before. gonna do the ball joints this weekend.

Its pretty normal for a selectable 4x4 truck. Only engage 4x4 when you have the ability for easy wheel slip
