Two different front drive shafts available for 2001 blazer?

Two different front drive shafts available for 2001 blazer?
I have removed the front driveshaft (PN# 15062957) and the replacement was (PN#15036981). The lengths, yolk, and u joints are the same, however the replacement driveshaft is a smaller diameter and solid. The weight is about 3 times heavier. Will the replacement work?
