Default What is the bare minimium I have to do to fit 31" tires

As the title states, I am wondering what is the minimum I would have to do to a stock 1998 4dr 4x4 blazer to fit 31" tires. The reason I am making this post is cause I dont want to ruin the drive capibilities as this is a daily driver and I don't want to spend a bunch of money. Also I have heard many different things that you have to have a 2" lift or 3" lift. The tires I want are BFG All-Terrian T/A KO's, which in the 31" size means the overall diameter is really 30.7" (pulled from the BFG website). So therefore I was wondering if say a 1" T-bar crank and1-1.5" shackles would be fine or maybe a 1/2" Tbar and 1" shackle??? If you have any direct evidence of either of these working that would be great. Also where would I go to get my speedometer recailbrated after installing the larger tires? Thanks for all your help.

The dealership will charge you an hour's worth of labour time to re-program your truck for the new tire size.

So far I've been very happy with my 30" BFGs... though, they do occasionally rub... and I've got the fender notch in the top dead center of my fender, lol.

Body lift it. Its cheap, easy, and it doesnt kill your ride. For 31's you need just about all of the 2 inches to avoid rubbing.

Now if you want to go torsion bar you can get by with 1.5" and some shackles but you gotta do one of 2 things, cut the fenders and get some egr fender flares or (and this struck me as genius the other day) is fab up a drop block for the bump stop on the a arm to keep it from coming up all the way. If ya dont do either you may rub on the big stuff but for the most part you will be ok. If ya need more clarification and pics of what will rub IM or PM me and ill give ya more details.
