1 bolt stands in my way
so im putting lift shackles on my blazer. well, trying to. 1 bolt is stoping me from doing this. the bottom bolt on the drivers side that connects the leaf to the shackle refuses to come out. ive drenched it in PB blaster, hammered the crap out of it, even took an air gun to it. still wont come out. Ive gotten the nut off the bolt, but thats it. any suggestions on how to get this thing out? My friends neighbor said he could use his ball joint splitter to press it out but do you got any other ideas?
Hmm, thats kinda odd. For mine it stuck a little so i just used a random bolt i had laying around and a big sledge hammer and it just popped out. What seems to be stopping it, can you tell?
Im pretty sure its stuck in the bushing. It takes some muscle but but when it turns, the bushing actually turns with it from what it looks like. I tried beating it with a hammer today, ended up smashing my thumb.
Are the bolts able to turn? Get them free first, ratchet them cw and ccw for a bit. Then what I did was used a punch and a bfh and hit the bolt. Hit it a little out, then back in, out, repeat. Use lots of pentrating fluid and you will get it.
