Need advice on new shocks

Need advice on new shocks
I need new shocks on my 90 blazer full size, big time! I dont ever do any "off roading" but I do a lot of winter driving up here in Alaska. I just want a nice ride, not too soft, not too firm. I was thinking about Rancho RSX, does anyone have an opinion on this matter?

RE: Need advice on new shocks
Just thought that I would give you some advice. I have a 2000 Chevy S10 4 Door 4X4 (I know that yours is a full size) that I just purchased Pro-Comp ES9000's for. Haven't installed them yet, but past experiences with Pro-Comps have been great and they are a lot cheaper than Rancho's. For my S10 the complete set ran $149. Just my 2 cents.

Well....I still can't give you an answer on the shocks. I received them and took them to my service guy to have installed and he told me that they are the wrong ones. I called 4Wheelparts.com and after a 15 minute wait they told me that the ProComps are not available for my blazer. WTF!!! So UPS came by and picked them up. Had installed Monroe truck shocks now and they seem fine, but not what I was really looking for. Sorry I couldn't help you out more.

RE: Need advice on new shocks
I just ordered Edlebrock IAS shocks for my 4x4 4wd 98 S10 blazer. My dad is going to get them for his 02 suburban and they seem to be very good shocks but they are not $149 for 4 shocks, mine rang in at $290 with free shipping and the 5% discount at www.shockwarhouse.com. I can't tell you how the shocks do but from the research I have done they seem like the best that will perform way better than the stock shocks. Hope this helps.

RE: Need advice on new shocks
I have now installed them and driving about 150 miles since, and they ride awesome. They are sooo nice, I like them alot and am glad I forked out the money for them. They also gave me about a 1/4" lift over stock. Also for the s10 blazers they are larger bore than stock, they are a 46mm bore shock over i think 32-36mm bore that was stock. There is lots less body roll now and it absorbs bumps great.
