Question Reaccuring Vibration

Hey guy's just wanted to see if i couldn't get some opinions from a couple people on a reaccuring problem. I bought my 2000 blazer in january of 08. I had a 2yr 24k warranty that i also purchased with the truck. After having it for about 4 months a put a set of new wheels and tires on it (Goodyear eagles) and couldn't get rid of a horrid vibration. turns out that after putting 4 new sets of goodyear eagles on it that the tires weren't the problem. the truck must have been sitting for awhile before i bought it and it had a rusted out transmission mount and the driveshaft also got thrown out of balance destroying the u-joints also. so i had my local tiresource fight with the warranty people to get it fixed but could only get them to rebalance the old driveshaft. they wouldn't replace it with a new one because new driveshafts for these blazers run pretty expensive i guess. the vibration did go away for awhile but these last couple of weeks i've noticed a vibration on the highway while going about 60-65. it's nothing like it used to be but it is definitely noticeable. i'm trying to avoid a large problem from accuring expecially since i still have my warranty till january. is it possibel that the driveshaft has thrown itself out of whack again because its beyond repair? if anyone has any ideas what this could be i would greatly appreciate some pointers. if its still going on this week i'm forcing myself to take it to a buddy's shop to have him check it out....

so did you ever replace the tranny mount and u-joints? if not i would go ahead and replace them since you already know they're wornout/broken. it also could be possible(not likely but possible) that your wheels have become unbalanced since the last time you had them checked.

I would start with re-balancing the tires and be sure to check them for true roundness while on the balance machine. If the problem persist after that I would pull the driveshaft and have it checked at a driveline shop.

I had the u-joints and transmission mount replaced. also while they replaced those two parts they rebalanced my driveshaft also... thats my first thought is to get the tires rebalanced but i'm trying to find a place with a good balancing machine. the local tiresource i use to take my truck to has a smaller not so accurate machine so it very well could be my tires that are a little off balance. hopefully i can get it in somewhere this week! the drive to work didn't impress me to much this morning.....

hey guys thought u might find this interesting! pretty much think i got my vibration figured out in the rear. turns out it was what i was complaining to my local tiresource about the whole time.... i toke it to another local goodyear with a digital balancer to see if they could work out the kinks. the mechanic that was working on it through out the idea of me having bent rims witch is the whole deal i was complaining to tiresource about. sure enough he toke the tire off the rim and mounted the rim alone on the machine. the weld connecting each side was like a wave. so i went out to summit and bought 2 new rims. turns out the 2 new rims i bought were also bent. back to summit i went and made them thro rims on their balancing machine until they found me a set of good rims. hopefully by 6 tonight i won't have a massaging truck on the highway.....

Wow, talk about poor quality control if they're putting out rims like that.

ya man no doubt! i was pissed when i purchased the second set that were bent! i was going to swop out rims for different ones but i like the style and they fit the truck so... all in all tho i'm finally sitting on the straight rims. got the new rims put on yesterday and toke it straight to the highway for a test run after. got it up to 75 with no wobbles or vibrations. must say i'm extremely happy now! i would recommend if anyone is purchasing black window "D" cragars to make them balance the rims to make sure they are straight before buying them!

o buy the way if you have a beater off road i got 2 of these rims i'm trying to get rid of for REAL cheap! i believe one is still straight but the other is about .28 off.... wouldn't bother a bogger or off roader since you would be going slow....
