You said "play" and "shaft" in the same sentence[sm=icon_rofl.gif]

There will be some play in the shaft.

Ok... Back on topic... m00n, you're lookin' at ~$20 each, but the listing for your '93 is weird. Does that have a 3 joint rear shaft in it?
Good question...you know how useless I can be...what you just said was like, "Whaa, woo, waa, waaa" all Charlie Brown teacher style and all.
I'll find out. I figured they would be pretty cheap. I live about 4 min drive from the NAPA, so I might just stop in there to figure it out anyway. I have to go to get a new oil drain plug (rubber's goin') and plugs & wires, so I'll figure it out. Thanks for the info that they will be around $20 though. That way I can make sure they give them to me cheaper than that with my discount.
I'm wondering if I should try and get help and do it myself or just send it to the shop. I'm a fast learner, but it might be beyond my abilities with help. I suppose I'd need a hoist anyway.

No hoist necessary. Pull it into the grass (if you can, straddle a low spot in the grass so you can get underneith good and drop the driveshaft out. The whole driveshaft should come out by just removing the 4 bolts & 2 straps that hold the driveshaft to the rear axle. But I don't know how your trucks driveshaft is laid out...
You may need a vice or at the very least a large C-clamp to press out the old u-joint cups and press in the new ones. I typically use a socket that is a bit smaller on the outside than the cup on one side, and another that is alittle larger on the inside for the other and press them out. It can be done with a C-clamp, but it's MUCH easier with a vice.

Some clunking sounds could be eminating from the door hinge pins, hood or the U joints
I have to change the front pass side door hinge pins and the same side hood washers.
There will be some play in the shaft.
You said "play" and "shaft" in the same sentence
Anyway.....I'm getting that "play" in the shaft, that's why I suspected it.
I'm going to price 'em out at NAPA.
