actual tire diamater
Hey guys! i dont post very often but usually read up on the facts ever few days. I am looking at doing a tbar and shackle cranks and fit some larger tires on my 2005 2 door 4x4 Jimmy.. When looking at 30inch tires on tire rack some of the diamaters for the on/off road tires are 29.5inch.. im only doing 1.5inch lift, would it be worth going to the 31inch tires(they are actually 30.5inch).. keep in mind a do like to take the odd bush trail and i dont want to be bottoming out alot(hence only 1.5inch lift).... thanks alot in advance for letting me pick your brain

if you are running stock wheels you shouldn't have a problem with 31's. I have 31's with aftermarket rims and the lift you want to do. I trimmed my fenders some and hardly ever rub anymore

thanks for the responce! to get those results, did you have to crank your tbars more then 1.5inchs? i have been researching this site for quite a while and i know i wanna stay away from anything more then that... were exactly did you have to trim?

Don't go further than 1.5 inches. I did cause it looked cool, but after fixing broke cv shafts a couple times, I cranked them back down. I don't know about how he trimmed his amazingly awesome rigs fenders, but I took a sawzall to mine and cut a triangle with about a 3 in base out of the corner closest to the door, and a razor knife to trim up the plastic air dam
