Default AD-244 Alternator. where to find and how do i know its an actual AD-244

Pretty much just as the title says. im looking for a AD-244, i went to a junkyard and he said he couldnt look it up by part but by only the make and model of my vehicle so he was only seeing the 100 amp alternators that fit my 96 blazer. i heard that they come off of 03 and newer tahoes and stuff but i dont know if its an actual ad-244, i know it shows how many amps but does it say AD-244 on them? any other info on how to spot a AD-244 would be helpful Thanks!

9 chances out of 10 it will work. you have the 4.3 in your blazer and tahoes usually run the 5.7. which they are pretty much the same motor just one is missing two cylinders.

i have the AD-244 alternator, you can get it from autozone. Ask for an alternator for a 01 1500 Suburban with the 5.3L. They came stock with the 145 amp alternator. It will be a complete bolt in but you are going to need a larger belt. You need a belt that is 1/2" - 1" larger than stock.

Reviving an old thread. Whenever i look online at the pepboys, autozone, oreillys, anything local, they only have the 105 and 130 amp alternators. Where is the 145 that everyone says they got?

Advance should have a powermaster 140 amp alt for about 180. That's what I gave for mine about 2 years ago. So I've heard this alt will do 100 amps at idle, this true?
