Backspacing: 3.75 or 4.5
Looking at putting on Rock Crawler Series 82 Rims [15x8, 3.75" or 4.5" of backspacing]. I plan on putting them on Super Swamper TSL Radial 30 x 10.5 (15x8 rim)[Actual Size: 29.7 x 10.2]. I was wondering the benefits and disadvantages to 3.75" of backspacing, and 4.5" of backspacing. Also if I need to note anything else to make these rims and tires fit; offset etc.
My vehicle is a 2001 Chevy Blazer LS 2 door 4x4 with 31x10.5 BFG Long Trail [30.7 x 10.7] on stock rims.
Thanks fellas!

FYI: According to the picture in this thread, you have a ZR2 Blazer (which is worth noting in your signature). On a stock Blazer, 31's are already a tight squeeze but the ZR2's come with 31" tires. I don't know what kind of fitment issues you would expect because I'm not too familiar with the ZR2's.
3.75" backspacing will push the wheels out further which could cause issues while turning and like Verno said, issues with front end parts due to the added stress on the wheel hubs.
FWIW: stock wheels have 6" backspacing

See the thing is, my blazer has not one sticker or label saying its a ZR2. What I do know is that the 31's I have on now barely rub at all. As far as what I can find in/on my blazer its just a regular one, however it makes no sense the 31s can fit.
Haha I'm pumped to find out I do have the ZR2 model, crazy to think I had to look up the codes to find out. To tell you the truth the Super 44 sounds really nice right now. At first i was disapointed but now Ive had it for about 5 months and it sounds pretty mean. My dad has a 2001 Toyota Tundra v8 with magnaflow duals and my girlfriend says mine blazer is just as loud!
