Default BFGoodrich A/T in snow and ice?

I've wanted a set of BFGoodrich A/T ever since I had an '84 Blazer more than 5 years ago. For my current 2001 Blazer I am still thinking about getting a set of them.

I've never bought new tires before because it's expensive. And because of that I can't afford A/T's plus a second set of something else for winter so I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the A/T's in snow/ice conditions? Thanks!

my brothers winter tires on his F150 are BFG A/T T/A's
he says they are great in the snow

your right , they are pricey

I run 30X9.5X15 Hercules trail digger m/t year round and they are great in winter but loud as hell and roll like your on cobble stone
I would likely go with Hercules terra trac r/s if I had to do it again , the tread is very similar to the BFG

What part of Canada are you in ?

I'm in Southern Alberta. I've found a few videos and comments that the A/T's are decent in snow, but almost nothing about icy conditions I'm sure they will be better than anything I've had in the past. Don't think I've owned a set of tires that had more than %40 tread heh

when I put the Hercules on my Blazer in the middle of winter the shop cringed that I planned on running them in winter because of the blocky tread
Two winters now and absolutely so regrets in their winter ability

I swear the Michelin all seasons I had on were going to be the death of me
I had the truck sideways more than once at speed

BFG A/T's are better than most in the snow but not as good as a few. As far as ice goes, if you don't have chains, cables or studs it really doesn't matter what you are running.

I run the BFG's most of the year but have a set of Goodyear Duratracs for hunting/winter. I also have a set of cables for when things get really nasty.

The Duratrac's are worth looking at. You will see great reviews on the Internet about its winter performance.
