new wheels and tires for 86 1ton
i just bought a military 1 ton pick up yesterday, and am planning on a little lift and tire upgrade. i have 2 inch front springs and 2 inch rear add a leafs, plus beefy shackles that add 2 inches of lift (maybe a little more) coming for it, and am kind of stuck with the wheels. the ones i want are 16's, but im not sure how wide i want them. they come in 16x8 with 4.25 backspacing and 16x10 with 4 backspacing. im wanting to run interco LTB's either 34's or 35's. would i be better off with the 16x8? the truck has dana60 and 14bff. will 16's be big enough, or should i go with a 16.5 or 17?

An old trick we used to do was to grind the tops of the front brake calipers in order to be able to run 15" wheels on a 3/4 or 1 ton.
15" tires are cheaper and you get a taller sidewall for off-road traction and capability.
