Default rockcrawler question

i have decided to go with the rock crawlers instead of spacers on my 96 blazer.
i have 2 questions.
for the wheels i have found i can go with 3.75", 4", or4.5" of backspacing.
i know the smaller the backspacing the more it will stick out. will the 3.75" work?
stock backspacing is 6.something"
will 3.75" be not enough backspacing and rub? how about 4" or 4.5"
second question is...
wheel width.
i have LT235/75/15 General Grabber AT2 tires, they are a tiny bit bigger than stock.
i know a 8" wheelwill fit great witha 235
how will a 10" wheel fit on a 235? will it have to stretch mount the tire much? would it look ok?

You want the 4.5" of backspacing and you may still ahve trouble with rubbing the back fo the front fenders.

General rule of thumb, you can run tires 4/5" wider then your rim wide. If your rim wideth is 7" you can run 11.5" wide tires.

ok... now what if i did a 2" body lift and did the 2" suspension lift (shackles and torsion bar crank)... would the 4" back spacing rub?

I will have to take a measurement on Dale when i get home but I'll see where the tire would be if with those specs (im looking to do the same type of thing for him lift wisethought im sticking with stocker rims for now). I have a feeling that you will still rub though unless you trim.

As for the rims and the 235/75/15 tires, it should be alright. Again i will have to take a measurement on Dale's stock tires as far as how wide the stock tread is but 2 inches should be alright.

I have the 15x8 with 4.5 inches of backspacing with 30x9.50 muds and they rub quite a bit up front
