It's a 2001 Blazer LS 2DR 4x4. I am a certified Subaru technician, but have only owned GM vehicles. Three Camaros, one Grand Prix, and now this Blazer. I have plenty of buddies that wheel, but none own GM's. So I will be installing the lift, wheels, tires, and performing any fabrication necessary to fit 31x10.5-15 tires.

I hope you didn't feel insulted by my last post. That certainly was not my intention. There just seems to be a lot of bs floating around this site that people present as "good advice."

i wasnt insulted at all i know where your coming from, but you will need a rim with 6" of BS if you dont wanna rub/trim anything or a rim with 5.5" of BS with very minimal trimming. if you look up wolfpack hes running a 265/70/15(roughly 30") with a 2"bodylift, shackles and a tbar crank with a rim that has 4.5" of BS and he had to trim and rubs. so if you wanna run 31's on a rim with 4" of BS youll have to do some hefty trimming and youll have to put up with constant rubbing issues.

Backspacing is the key, as has already been stated. You want to keep it as close to stock (6") as possible. You might want to consider keeping your stock rims and using those. Paint them if you choose.

Currently, I'm running 33X10.5 A/Ts on my stock rims for everyday use. I do have a ZR2 which sits about 3" higher stock than non-Z's and came with 31's stock. I have a 2" bl, 2" shackles and tweaked tbars and still had to do some trimming.

I ran some rims with 4.5" bs with 31s before and mods and rubbed on my flareletts. With the stock bs I never rubbed.

Moral to the story, keep as close to stock bs as you can.

Oh, make sure you add another rim and tire as you don't want your spare to be smaller than your other tires.

Just run 31"s on your stock wheels and install a 2" lift. I did that for many of rub free mile. My current set-up doesn't rub at all after I trimmed my fenders.

Sorry it took me so long to respond, I've been busy with school.

Thanks a lot guys for your input, I really appreciate it.
I was thinking about keeping the stock wheels and painting them black. What do the wheel companies use to paint their wheels? Are they powder coated?

you can go powdercoated if you want, but any auto parts store will have paint for your wheels just be sure to prep everything and they should turn out looking as good as new.

My uncle owns a powder coating shop right down the street from my house. I think I will give him a call. I had a 6-point roll cage that I built for my 98 Camaro powder coated black and it looks amazing.

Question to all of you guys....

Goodyear Wrangler Dura Trac
Would that be a good tire for a daily driven vehicle. They look very aggressive which I like a lot. But I'm afraid of uneven or premature wear from driving on pavement as well as decreased braking distance due to a decrease in surface area of the tire contacting the pavement. I am new to 4x4s so I dont know a whole lot. But these are the questions I find myself pondering. Thats where all of your experience comes in to play guys..lol

I think they would be fine on your Blazer. Just keep in mind that you do not have to run the air pressure at the max rating on the sidewall of the tire unless you are gonna be hauling some serious weight.
For example: I run my 31"s at 35psi instead of the 50psi recommendation on the sidewall. Because s-series Blazers don't weigh as much as a full size, you will get a better ride, traction and tire wear that way.
