2005 Trailblazer weird electrical problem
Sorry I don't know exactly what to call this feature, but you know how on newer vehicles when you shift into gear it locks the doors, then when you shift back into park it unlocks the doors and turns the cabin lights on? Well while I was driving last night, my Trailblazer starting unlocking the door and turning the cabin lights on, like the computer thought it was being put into park. The transmission wasn't actually trying to shift into park or anything, but the electrical system would seemingly randomly think Park had been engaged and turn the lights on and unlock the door. It's awfully hard to drive at night when the lights keep turning on lol.
Any ideas on where to start looking? I'm mildly mechanically inclined, but I know next to nothing about the electrical systems. Any help is appreciated!

Those lights and door locks are controlled by the Body Control Module. the BCM gets signals from elsewhere, e.g. gear selector position, door jam switches etc., to know what relays to energize that will supply power to things like the lights and door locks. There could be something wrong with a connection to the BCM so that it is getting bad info.
