I'm looking to purchase a Trailblazer EXT with the 5.3L V8. Can anyone tell me what letter represents that particular engine in the VIN? Also what years were they available in?

The 8th digit will be S for the 4.2L I6 & P for the 5.3L V8. The 7th digit should be 6 for the GMT370 (EXT) platform.

Copy down the VIN, plug it into compnine.com, and you'll get every option that the truck came with.
