Ignition short and more
Hey everyone. I'm looking for help for my new to me jimmy. Thing had a short between the steering colum and wheel and started smoking. The wire i found shorted led the the key ignition and cut engine power and crank briefly befofe turning back on. I had a CEL before, and turned off after, and opposite with the ABS light as it turned on(may be unrelated, previous owner did mention they occasionally pop on or off) Drove the 2 blocks home, and temporarily fixed that up. After that, my radio, windows, air controls, fuel economy thing, and wipers don't work. No power at all. Only thing I could think is the 20amp and 30amp circuit breakers. Got some from pick n pull and no help, but no gaurentee any of the 2 i found were good. Any other ideas for something i need to look into?
This is a 97 jimmy sls. 4 door, auto, button activated 4x4. 201,000km
thank you all

Yes everything else functions normally. Runs and drives, just cannot drive as its raining and wipers dont work.
I replaced the 2 circuit breakers (30amp and 20amp) as I thought that may be an issue but no luck. I got 3 of each from pick n pull so assuming at least 1 of them wasn't blown that shouldn't be my issue.

Check wiper fuse 17 (25A) in the IP fuse block.
Put the wipers on high, black meter probe on battery ground and probe the 4 wires at the wiper motor module in turn and tell me what you get (4 numbers).
