94 s10 blazer starting trouble
I have a 94 S10 blazer that recently has begun to give me trouble starting. Gradually over the past few weeks I noticed it starting to take a few more cranks before it would fire. Last week I went out and the truck would crank but never start. I tried this 3-4 times before I gave up for the day. Came home, tried again, no luck, now I hung the battery charger on it b/c I drained the battery cranking. After charging it started right up. I was thinking it was the battery however I am still having issues and I keep checking the battery is it is reading fine. Today it cranked for maybe 10 times before it finally started. The crank seems strong so I do not think it is electrical. Any ideas what it is?
Fuel pressure gauge connected to the fuel pressure test port on the main fuel line at the back of the intake manifold between the distributor and the brake booster.
If the pump was replaced with something other than AC Delco or Delphi, it is very likely that it is the cause of your present situation.

Have you tried spraying some carb cleaner into the throttle body the next time you go to crank it. If it starts up, then you know its a fuel issue. Also check your fuel pressure, with the key ON, not started. Pressure should be 58-62psi, and it should hold for at least 5 mins after you turn the key Off.
I was having a similar problem and I replaced the pump and it starts up like it should every time now.
