Do i need valve seals or piston rings?
91 4.3 TBI about a quart of oil every 200 miles, smokes white out pcv hole and dipstick tube, sooty black stuff coming out tailpipe, but not a lot of smoke out pipe. Im sick of wasting oil in this thing any idea whats causing the oil consumption. Thanks

What do the plugs look like?
You could have either an oil ring problem or a valve seal problem. An exhaust valve seal issue will not show on the plugs as much as an intake seal issue would.
By far the easiest to deal with is the valve seals.

Yeah plugs just changed and old ones where really white and corrode up almost plugging up entire gap.

Really white does not sound like burning oil in the cylinders. They would normally be black.
