Default Freon replacement

I replaced the AC compressor on my 92 s-10 Blazer. How many cans of freon does it take to refill the system. ?

cherokee4, if you have a 92, the it takes R12 anything newer than a 94(or is it 95) uses R134. There should be a sticker in you engine compartment that tells you which kind of refrigerant and how much to use. Where did you get your refrigerant? I need some for my 93. No one I know of sells R12 anymore.

I didnt put R12 in it I have changed the orfice so I can use R134. Its real simple now . Use to have flush system out before changing over. The new R134 will work with the old now. Still need to flush the system to be safe.

Thanks Jerry. Does anyone know why the new replacement AC commpressors have off set ports ? pain in the butt to find the right size spacers. New one came with 2 washers but they were the wrong thickness.
