Heater blower motor
My heater blower motor quit working tonight. I immmidiately came home and checked this forum and looked over a few ideas. after checking the fuse and connections behind the switch I tapped on the motor and it immidiately started working.
My question is... after reading that it's most likely just a loose connection inside the blower..... can I disassemble the motor and solder the connections? my luck will say no, but I'd be a fool not to ask. I'm ready to pay the $24 to get a new one, but would rather not.
Thanks guys, you've already helped me save over $3000 in labor on this truck!

It is worth a try I suppose. More than likely though, it is not a loose connection, but a bad bearing that is causing the rotor to hang up. The motor does not have a lot of starting torque.
Before you go any further check the ground wire at the blower motor. There is a single wire that grounds the blower motor through one of the mounting bolts. The motor will not run or run intermittently if the ground wire is not tight.
