Rear glass/gate fixin'
I found a new gate/glass **** this weekend that is in great shape. For some reason my key doesn't fit in the new lock like it should, it just won't go all the way in.
I disassembled the old lock and lined up the tumblers/springs in the right order then I took the new one apart and cleaned it out really good. For some reason my original door key will only go in about halfway while the ignition key will go in all the way. Did GM switch to a different kind of keys at some point? The new one I found is a lot deeper/taller and has the words gate/glass engraved on the handles instead of around the key hole like on the original. All of the other blazers at the local junkyard have already had the gate/glass ***** "harvested" so I can't get another one very easily.
Is there a way to make this one work? If not is there a place that sells a new ****? I've still got the tumblers in order so I can re-key a new one as necessary.
Thanks!
