rough idle

hi i have 92 s-10 blazer with the 4.3 vortec in the lastweek its idled rough at 1st start and smooths out the longer it warms up when driving it is jerky and once its reached its running temp everything seems to b ok. i did read about the egr and did pull that and clean it up and also aic that seemed to idle me up some which is good also wanted to know about tv cable i was reading in forum about it on a 88 and went to the link that was posted there but it was refering to a carb setup i have the vortec so if someone could tell me how to adjust the tv cable on a vortec that would b appreciated. another note the way the truck was running thought i had a cracked distributor cause it ran like water in there but ichanged that and rotor and had no change so it wasn't that Help Please!!!!!!!!

I would have the DTC codes scanned to see if there are any that may be relavent to this issue. Some times it can get you closer to the solution faster than just guessing.
What type of intake on this truck TBI or CPFI (CPI)?
Here are some ideas that might help:
1. Leaking FPR/CPI SPYDER/NUT KIT allowing excess fuel to pass into the intake.
2. Dirty MAF/MAP sensor, get some CRC MAF Cleaner or Radio Shack Electronics Part Cleaner...stuff that will not leave a residue on the MAF...
3. Check your TPS voltage and IAT sensor readings to make sure they are on target.
4. Check bottom of distributor for clogged drain screens, these are in the base of the distributor and get clogged with age(rust???) etc...
5. Check to make sure that all the wires are completely seated especially if you have the "crab" style cap, they have a tendency to get air trapped inside the cap boot and eventually work themselves out out of their socket (use a small screw driver while pushing the boot onto the cap to keep air pressure from building up). Check the coil boot too...
6. Check the wires for spark leaks with a spray mist at night...
Well that is all I can think of at this time today...

thank u and we did run the codes it came back with low voltage after truck ran a few minutes seem to right its self did notice that the original factory coil was still on truck and it appeared to have been arching replaced it gave the truck a seafoam bath and now it runs worse then it did b4 i changed coil and gave it seafoam bath anyway back to code we cleared computer and nothing else has appeared on it

How old are the plugs, if the seafoam bath loosened some carbon it could have ended up in the plugs if you take them out check the gap and clean them if needed...

Check, tightenand if "original" or "old" replace your battery terminals and all your idle problems will possiblybe gone. You know how I know? When I first bought my Blazer used in 2002, it was running poorly with SES light on. I took it to Auto Zone and had my codes read. The guy told me that I needed 15different partsto fix and "Oh, by the way" he says, "You have low voltage code." Now me, NOT being a mechanic says to myself, "Hmmmmmmmmm, I wonder if my battery terminals are loose?" WOW, my terminals could be moved by hand! Ibought the boxed end little wrench right there at Auto Zoneand tightened both positive and negative and drove home like it was brand new!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But that was just my experience, you may want to start pulling your distributor, spider injector, plugs, wires and engine out as suggested. You know whatTHEY say, "it's never anything simple."Good luck!
