Default Metal Skid Plate mod for 4-button transfer case??

Hi all,

So I purchased from eshaw (thank you sir!) a set of the front suspension, engine, and transfer case metal skid plates to install on my Blazer. When I got them I knew there could be an issue with the one for the transfer case. It is designed for the smaller 3-button t-case but I have the larger 4-button type the a skid-plate for which has a deeper pocket to clear the t-case.

Has anyone modified one of these earlier metal t-case skid-plates so that it could be used with a later 4-button t-case? If yes, what did you do?

I've seen them dropped down with the use of aluminum spacers. It requires longer bolts too. I think that would be your easiest recourse.

I think I ran across a thread on here from years ago where a member used a very large hammer to bend it closer to shape.

Or, keep an eye out for a metal 95-98 ZR2 trans case skid. I just saw one earlier today at my local pick n pull. That'll bolt up just fine.
