Default '00 died and no power

Ok, so my 2000 Lt with the 4.3lt died while in motion today. I was able to get it to the side of the road safely. I was able to get it restarted and got it the last 1/8 mile to home. Now here is the problem...I had to coast it the last 200 feet. I tried to get it restarted, but there is no ignition power. No clicks or anything. Heck, Even the gauges stopped working. Don't know where to go here. I checked the battery cables, they were good..Checked all ignition fuses...they were good... im thinking maybe the coil??? Im tired of fixing these dern trucks. between the blazer and the suburban...im at a loss

I am open to any ideas... oh yeah and there was no codes!

So you're driving and it died. Got it restarted, drove for a bit and it died again, now it won't even click at all to turn over? Do you have a battery gauge on your cluster? If so, what does it read?

Not sure about the dying part, but it sounds like you have a dead battery.

The battery gauge is reading 12.5 with nothing extra on (i.e lights, radio, ect.)

sounds alot like your ignition switch took a crap on you which is a fairly common problem with second gens. is it hot where you are? cuz they like to go out when they get over heated. maybe try to start it at night when its cooler. if you search "ignition switch" there is tuns of information on them and what can go wrong, swartlkk has done a few good write ups on them. i have read a few different posts where people had this same problem and the ignition switch was the problem. just my 2 cents. hope this helps

Well,my father-n-law just found the problem. A wore down wire going thru the firewall was shorting out and fried the 40 amp fuse. looks like its patch time! thanks for the info... I now know to look out for the Ignition Switch!!!
