I really doubt that George cares what simplistic generalities Scanner Danner puts forth in a YouTube video. He's way past that and has been very patient with you. You need to choose who you are going to follow. Good luck and best wishes for a successful repair.

We are working our way backwards from the fuel pump to the signal that turns it on. Along the way we are testing every element in the circuit path included corroded wires and junctions. Thats why you are back probing a fully loaded circuit, a Scanner Danner favorite for good reason. If you want to stab at random guesses based on one vehicle in a training video go ahead but if you watch enough Scanner Danner you will see that he is an excellent diagnostician and he got to that determination doing what we are doing here. I f'in guarantee that in his many decades of doing this he has also found another 20 reasons for a dead fuel pump and he never stabs at the fix, he always does proper diagnostics. Garages hire him as a last resort to find the real problem when stabbing at it did not work. Same with South Main Auto. Two best mechanics on the internet but you have completely missed the point of what they do. I like helping people and I can get you to a targeted and least expensive fix but jumping around and losing interest in a disciplined process ain't my thing. Your truck, your journey man. There are plenty of people on various forums that like your approach and they throw out one fix they heard about on one mythical truck somewhere on the world wide interwebs. If you like Scanner Danner, buy his book and get an online subscription to Alldata for your truck or the factory service manuals.

So what I found was on the firewall, a relay, I checked it and it was burnt or shorted, a wire going into was shorted, I believe this is the headlight relay, but I'm not sure. This is one problem fixed, but still a no start. The reason I'm turning to you tube for assistance, is I don't have a whole lot of time to get this blazer running, just a few more days, and I'm going to either put it in the shop and have someone else deal with it or junk it, still no power back to pump with key on, so possibly there is a corroded wire or short to ground. I just don't know. Still working on it, I probably should pull apart all connections and check them.

We could have been done with this by now. Some things just don't have a quick fix and the tortoise wins the race with proper diagnostics. To quote Les, I'm out. Good luck.

Default My 98 chevy blazer

My grandfather purchased this 98 Chevy blazer. As a project, it had previously caught on fire and the gentleman.Putting it back together that we bought it from redid The wiring front windshield dash And engine.
the problem I'm having is it will not get fule up to the engine. The fuel pump has been replaced, the relay has been replaced, and iv read through this post and did some of the things said. If gas is poured down the the throttle body it will run but then die out.. and still no fuel to the engine. It seems like it's not priming at all nor sending fuel when I get it to run. I'm also having a problem figuring out if the guy used parts from other years, like ecm and stuff like that if that's part of the problem. I was considering just hot wiring g the fuel pump to a on off switch and see if that would work... but seeing how one of you gentleman said multiple computers control fuel I'm thinking it won't work. Any help or guess would be appreciated.

Measure the fuel pressure at key on and after 10 min:

There is absolutely nothing not even fuel in the line at all.

Look and see if you have a fuel pump priming tab next to the fuel pump relay. If so what is the voltage for the two seconds after key on?
