My 2001 is giving me starting problems recently. Sometimes no problem starting, other times cranks but won't start. Also while driving recently it shut off and would not start. Towed to a friend's who said it was the fuel pump, so put in new pump. But now it is doing the same thing again. Towed it to nearby repair shop and they are boggled as well since no codes show when it does start. Has brand new battery and fuel filter. Plugs/wires changed about a year ago. Distributor cap changed about 6 months ago. Going to check distributor cap for crack/moisture, but any other ideas? HELP!

 

is it getting fuel? can you hear the fuel pump? have you checked your fuel pressure?
