Hey y'all I have a 2005 S-10 Blazer that has (had) an issue with it's stereo. It didn't work until we pulled the dash apart and then miraculously it started to work but no CD player so I got another stereo from a salvage yard that now is installed but displays 'locked'. I tried to push minutes button to pull codes-which by the way, that procedure works on a 2000 vintage but doesn't seem to work on an 05. I own a tech 2 tool but I can't seem to find a screen to do a vin re-learn. Anyone out there able to help me? Thanks for reading my question and thanks in advance for any help that can be given! Read this thread.. having a tech ii doesnt help the dealer much, either.

If it were me.. and pulling the OE didnt engage theft.. I'd look at swapping the CD mech.

Thanks'
Thanks for your reply-seems to me I've done some research and some 04's and 05's have to go back to the dealer if you changeout the factory stereo to another factory stereo. They are vin specific...Oh well-that's progress for you! Aftermarket won't lock up thought, from what I've found...Jerry

hey i work at a gm dealer and there is a code for those things, it is normally in your owners manual if you have it, if not you need to go to dealer and they can reset it for you, at a cost of usually one labor hour

I realize there is (on the earlier Blazers/Gm's) a way to hold radio pre-set button 1 and 2 get a 3 digit code and then push another two buttons then with these two, three digit codes call a 1-800 GM number along with a six or seven digit dealer code and retrieve a code to put into the stereo to unlock it but...this being a 2005, also may be a certain rpo number, but this technique according to my research, is not valid on this vehicle. Teh 2 does not help. Jerry
