Default 96 blazer won't turn over

So I recently tried starting my 96 blazer and I can't get it to start over. It makes the typical start up noise like it always does (not like it would if the battery was dead or dying), but it just won't turn over.

The terminals are tightened nice and snug. The alternator is good. I tried jumping the car and it makes a strong attempt to turn over but never actually does.

Any idea?

By strong attempt to turn over do you mean it cranks but will not start (run)?

Possible fuel pump problem, when you turn the key to the on position do you here the electric fuel pump "whining" as it pressurizes the system?

I mean it makes a very strong attempt to start... it just won't turn over and fully start, so yeah, it gives a very strong crank attempt.

When I turn the car in the on position, I do hear that motorized whining noise coming from the fuel pump.

Also, no CEL codes are being thrown.

Have you check the ECM BAT fuse? Second thought probably not blown as the pump works and turns over.

Possible coil, ignition module or fuel pump pressure issue. here's a link that may help. https://blazerforum.com/forum/engine...not-run-45944/

I know it's probably not the best way to do diagnostic testing, but I just sprayed some starting fluid in the intake and still no start. Strong crank, but won't turn over.

I'm guessing I must have a ignition or spark problem since the starting fluid won't get it...?

That just tells you that it wasn't a lean condition causing the no start. It doesn't rule out a rich condition or no-spark condition.

Have you checked out the Tech Article (DIY) section, specifically either of these posts:
