Default Amsoil ATF

It's time to drain and replace my tranny fluid, I was thinking about using a synthetic. Has anyone used Amsoil Synthetic ATF ? What do you think of it verse a non synthetic ? Is it worth the extra Money ?

Default RE: Amsoil ATF

Meh... I had it in my old Ram and didn't notice anything better about it. Maybe it would last longer than the regular stuff? Maybe... You need to look at the cost difference and if you are not going to be replacing it all (flush)... A pan drop & filter change only replaces around half of the fluid in the transmission.

For me now, I install a drain plug the first time I pull the tranny pan off of any of my vehicles and do drains every 20-30k miles depending on the condition of the fluid. I'm actually getting close to the first trans service on my Rainier. I just passed 30k miles over the holidays. I was thinking about going to Amsoil, but on service intervals like I do, it would be a complete waste.
