Default Big oil leak! help!

So about four weeks ago I began to notice an oil leak in my 02 chevy blazer 2wd v6 4.3l. Its very close to the front bumper. The sway bar is covered with oil as well as parts of the frame and driver side wheel well. Everything is sort of covered in oil from blowback. Im suspecting the oil cooler lines that lead from the oil filter. Does this sound correct? A half dollar size amount leaks out everytime im parked sometimes more and its getting progressivley worse. Im an auto tech student but I dont have time to take it into school. Someone help lol!

That sounds about right to me. Take the front skid plate off and inspect the oil filter mount for leakage. Clean all the old oil off with some kind of solvent and then drive it around for a little while until you can see where the oil is coming from. It very well could be from the lines that attach to that filter mount. I changed out the lines on my '98 Jimmy. It's awkward to get the lines attached to the block adapter because of the angle and some of the stuff in the way but it can be done.

Remove the skid plate.
Wipe off as much oil as you can from the oil filter adapter, frame, etc.
Start engine and watch under the engine for oil dripping.
Start looking for the leak.

Hopefully it is the oil filter. But get a flashlight and see if the front two oil pan bolts are present or loose. For some reason the front two get loose and fall out.
Check the front cover as well...this is where my '02 is leaking from.

They sell a UV dye and a black light with glasses that you can add to oil. Make sure its for OIL not AC.

remove skid plate, get some brake clean and wash it all down and wipe away till nothing is left. Add the UV dye to the engine oil. Start and run engine, check with the black light and UV glasses. You should see a bright color, green, red, what ever the dye will look like.

Could be a crank seal, could be the oil cooler lines, heck could be as simple as a double gasketed oil filter.

If it does turn out to be the oil lines, read up on them on this site. You can build your own that will last much longer than the Dorman replacements, and they will be cheaper as well!
