Default Big oil leak

When I bought my blazer the previous owner warned of an oil leak. Got an oil change and waited to see what happened. It was clean for a few hundred miles then there was oil everywhere from the oil filter to behind the transmission. Can anyone tells me some common problems that may cause this or tell me how I can narrow it down? Thanks

the lines running from block to the remote location of the oil filter...those lines are prone to leak.

Leaking oil filter, valve cover gaskets, oil pan gasket, oil lines to remote filter if it's a 4x4, oil pressure sending unit, lots of places that we can't see from here. You'll need to wash the engine and look for the leak then to be sure where it originates.

try and get some engine dye from the auto parts store, and a uv light and yellow glasses. add the dye to the engine oil. spray down the oily parts under the car with brake cleaner. drive the car, park it. then look for the dye trail with the uv light. this is the start of the adventure.
