Have you pulled your dipstick? Check for a milky residue. Sounds like you blew a head gasket. Just because you don't see a leak doesn't mean its not leaking internally.

*Moved to the 2nd Gen Tech Area* The new member area is for new member introductions.

I would suspect something is amiss with the ignition system or an intermittent fault with the fuel system possibly.

Are there any codes?

Just for my own education, what would cause the ignition to only act up after a while? Not tryin to put you on the spot-just tryin to soak some knowledge.

Heat. Next to moisture, heat is the next worst enemy of the ignition system. It can cause problems that go away once components cool down.

Ahhhh, so maybe that coolant/ oil he's smelling is it getting too hot which in turn is affecting the electrical. Got it. That makes sense. I figured maybe the oil was getting into the radiator and he was smelling that....

The coolant/oil smell may just be a different issue all together.
