I took my 1999 blazer yesterday to have the air fixed. They found out the upper hose was leaking. They fixed that, checked for more leaks, none. Drove it for around town, and with 15 minutes later, the cold air was cutting in and out and then finally it stopped blowning cold air all together. Drove home that way for 50 miles. This morning I drove it, it worked fine, nearly froze me out. Then noticed later in the day, it was kicking out again. The previous owner was saying the last summer she had it, it would get cold then back off and come on again. But it's not doing that, not coming on again. I rather it just stay cold all the time. What could be the problem now?

Normally we dont recommend throwing parts at a problem but since you likely dont have a gauge set, replace the cycling switch on the accumulator. It's a 'wear item'. And not very expensive.
If you know someone with gauge set, ask them to help you check it before you do that..

I would take it back to the place that worked on it. Tell them it still doesnt work right. If they stand behind their work, they should make it right.

They might knock off a half hour of labor if they feel they should have caught it.

When i was in service, we would test drive the vehicle or let the air run.
In the old days it was called customer service.

Well I was on my way to the service place which is 50 miles away. Turned on the a/c and all the way there it worked, so I turned around and come back home. Cold air all the way. I guess the oil needed to go through the system and get to that switch to work right I guess. Also my blazer was fixed by a female mechanic and did a get job working on another issue I had with my blazer.

well, again...unless there's a bad connection somewhere in the wiring, I suspect the cycling switch. You might just want to get one, anyway. It's an easy 5 minute replace.
And the switch doesnt need that oil. Only related possibility would be junk in the switch port

I hope the remark about the mechanic being female was an open minded positive remark. I find women quite often are better troubleshooters in areas they are familiar with.
