UPDATE:

I got it cranked up, no vacuum hooked up yet and I think the gas is to old (little bit of smoke).

Hook the batter up & :

DRLS Come On
Fuel Pump Comes On
Idiot Lights On Dash Come On
Interior Lights Come On

Start The Truck &

Speedo Acts As RPM Gauge
All Usual Stuff On

Turn Key Off &

Radio, AC/Blower Goes Off

EVERYTHING ELSE STAYS ON INCLUDING THE MOTOR!

What could cause this, where do I start? I am soooo lost. Thanks

Anyone with any ideas? I thought maybe a bad fusible link but that would cause power loss. It sounds like a ignition wire is in the wrong place but what under the hood could cause this, everything is hooked up, the only thing I can think I may have messed up is the ground on the back of the head but just as long as they are grounder what does it matter? Which they are all grounded, I have traced all the wires in the harness looking for one pinched or grounded and nothing is out of placed or broke.

The only way I can kill the ignition is by pulling the red wire on the battery junction block. Any insight from anyone will help at this point. Thanks so much guys.

I would disconnect everything and go back through. If you do not have a factory service manual or some other source of accurate, detailed information, get one.

Sounds like you may have something back feeding into the system.
