Default Engine Swap

Hi All:
Does anyone know if a 2001 4.3 Vortec out of an S-10 pickup will go into a 96 S-10 4.3 vortec Blazer with minimal problems? any help is greatly appreciated.

Should be no sweat. They are basically the same motor. It wasn't until mid-02 that things started to change minutely with some of the sensors, etc. Your y-pipe and wiring harness will have to be used as your truck will have 4 O2 sensors and the associated wiring for it, but everything else should be the same.

The injectors are backwards compatible, but as I said, that didn't change until mid-'02. Everything on the '01 motor will be the same as what is on your motor. Wiring removed and sitting on engine stands, you shouldn't be able to tell any difference between the two.
