Default Fan blade touching shroud

After getting a new radiator i intermittently hear this ticking. when I move the shroud the ticking gets louder or softer. Blade is hitting on the passenger side. What can I adjust to fix the problem?

The first thing you should check is the motor mounts. They are notoriously bad, and are probably broken.

How's your water pump? when they get really bad, the bearings will allow slop

Also make sure the fan bolts are to the fan clutch, fan clutch to the coolant pump.

Could be that the fan shroud was not put back into place....there are three bolts across the front, then two on each side. The bottom half of the shroud is supposed to snap into place...which on mine is a bit difficult to get it to do so.

I can see where the point of contact is, what say I get some shears and cut the shroud there?

Better to fix the root cause.

Agreed. If the sound started after you replaced the radiator, it's most likely that the fan shroud isn't quite seated correctly. The bottom half can be difficult to get snapped in, especially if there was any debris in the channel when you re-installed it. I'd suggest removing the fan shroud, cleaning the channel at the bottom, and re-installing it to make sure it clears the fan properly. This will also make sure the fan is centered in the opening to maximise airflow through the radiator. Too big of a gap can lead to reduced airflow through the radiator.

I see the three screws on top, is there a trick to raising it up?

Is it hitting the top of the shroud?

Is your rad support pushed back any?

Fan touches on the side. I wanted to raise the shroud up and reposition it in case that was the problem.
It's very possible that the radiator support has been damaged. I've been involved in three front end accidents. However everything was okay before I got the new radiator so I'm thinking there was an issue with the install.
