Default flashing red light

after 3 weeks of ownership i noticed that the RED flashing light by the radio keeps flashing all the time when the doors are shut.

i only received 1 ordinary key from the dealer at purchase.

what is the situation with the flashing red light and when i open the door, i see (Security) flashing at me in the middle of the dash................

Does everything work properly when its running. If so, don't worry about it.

If you will register your vehicle at GM Owner Center you can download a copy of the owner's manual and it can help with some questions you might have.

If thats the red light ON the radio its the theft lock so that if anyone took it out they need the code to re-activate it. the security light blinks because its a passive security system and by unlocking the door and opening it your somewhat de-activating it but you still need your chipped key to start it.
